Turning Pop Up and Ad blockers offTurn Pop Up and Ad blockers off
You must turn off all pop up and ad blocker programs. If you have installed a pop up or ad blocker program such as Ad Ware, Anti-Spy, Ad Zapper, you will need to turn the pop up or ad blocker off prior to launching a course. If you have installed the Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL Instant Messenger toolbars on your Internet Explorer web browser, you may be running a pop up blocker that is located within the toolbar settings.
You can temporarily turn off your pop up blocker by holding down the Control (Ctrl) key + selecting the link to launch the course. However, this is a temporary fix and your pop up blocker will turn back on when you select the Next button to advance to the next web page in the course. It is better to disable your pop up blocker.
Symptoms: You cannot launch the course. While running the course, it brings the user back to the beginning of the course. While running the course, the browser freezes, locks up, or times out and/or you get an Internet Error window.
Standard Toolbars on Internet Explorer Browser
Below is a graphic of the standard toolbars that you should see when you are running Internet Explorer web browser. If you have toolbars that are not shown below, you have installed a program that may be running a pop up blocker. Contact the Information Center at 1-800-435-7084 for their assistance in removing any pop up blockers that may be installed on your PC.
Non Standard Toolbars on Internet Explorer Browser
Below is another graphic of what the Google, Yahoo, MSN, and AOL Instant Messenger toolbars look like. If you have one of these toolbars installed, you may be running a pop up blocker. The red arrows below indicate where the pop up blocker settings are located on the toolbars.
If you see any words in your toolbar that indicate 'Blocked', you have a pop up blocker turned on. You need to disable the pop up blocker. If you have multiple toolbars, you may have multiple pop up blockers set. All pop up blockers need to be disabled. Although you can select the button to unblock pop up windows, some toolbars turn themselves back on as you move the next web page in a course, you must disable the pop up blocker totally so that the blocker does not turn itself back on while you are running the course.
If you cannot find where the pop up blocker is set, you may need to uninstall all toolbars or even reinstall your Internet Explorer web browser. Please contact the Information Center at 1-800-435-7084 to assist you with your Internet Explorer web browser settings.

There is no longer a proxy server, your PC now has a straight connection to the Internet. The Internet Explorer web browser may still have settings pointing to the proxy server that may need to be turned off.
Symptoms: Having the proxy server settings still set on your Internet Explorer web browser will cause your computer to lock up or time out in the middle of running the course. You may be running the course, then all of the sudden, the course locks up.
On the Connections tab, you need to turn off the settings to launch the proxy server. Click on the Connection tab and then click on the LAN Settings button.
Uncheck the Textbox “Use Automatic Configuration script”.

Completing a NETg Course - mastering the course
You can only complete a pre-test once. You can complete the post test as many times as you want. You must complete each section of the course at 80% or greater in order to have the course to show that you mastered the course.
Even if your overall score is over 80%, this does not mean that you passed the course. Your last attempt at each each assessment and/or similation of each section in the course must have a score of 80% or higher.
Be aware......If you complete an asessment or simulation at 80% or above, you should not go back into the post test for that assessment or simulation again. You can go back into the section to review the material, but do not go back into the asessment or simulation again. If you go back into a asessment or simulation and get a lower score, your lower score is record as your last score for the section. NETg uses your last attempt each section to determine if you mastered the course.
Do not be fooled by the Overall Score. The Overall Score is calculated by evaluating your last attempt score at each asessment or simulation completed divided by the number of asessment or simulations you completed. If you did not complete all sections of the course, your Overall Score may be higher than it really is because you have not attempted all asessment or simulations in the course.
You must master each assessment or similation of each section of the course at 80% or higher in order for the NETg course to be marked complete.
After you complete all asessment or simulation in all sections of a course, we recommend you select Menu from the top of the window, then select View My Results. Select the Print Results button so that you have a printed copy that you completed the course in case there is any discrepancy later that you completed the NETg course.
Printing your scores - proof you completed the course
When you complete a NETg course, be sure you print your scores as proof you completed the course in case The Learning Center needs proof you completed the NETg course. You must get 80% in each Assessment and Simulation of each Unit.
